Everything within reach, in the MacBook notch

A small workspace in the camera notch for music, recent files and mail. It opens on hover and folds back into the hardware when you move away, so the things I reach for all day are always one gesture away.
Problem
Everything I need is one window away
My work lives across a dozen open windows. Checking a song, grabbing a file I just downloaded or copying a sign-in code means leaving what I'm doing, digging through the stack, and resizing windows just to see two things at once. Each trip is small, but they add up to dozens of broken moments of focus a day.
Design process
Figma first, then built in Swift
I designed four versioned rounds in Figma, moving from a flat black bar to a raised body that blends into the hardware notch. Figma stayed the source of truth, down to icons exported as paths. I then directed Claude Code to build it as a native macOS app, with motion tuned on Apple's spring model so opening, closing and swiping between tabs feel physical.

Motion
Springs you can feel
Every motion runs on Apple's spring model, set by a duration and a bounce. Opening settles with a hint of overshoot, closing never overshoots into the camera, and pages slide like places sitting side by side. Move away mid-hover and the spring turns around from where it is instead of restarting.
Final results
Three tabs, one swipe apart
Music controls Spotify, Files shows recent downloads and screenshots in a Finder-style list, and Mail surfaces Gmail sign-in codes and links. Collapsed, the notch shows only what's new: a soundwave while music plays, or a count of new files and unread mail.
